ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 An Orlando man has been arrested after investigators say he took thousands of dollars from a woman who paid for a tiny home that was never delivered.<\/p>\n
Kayla Morgan stood on the lot where her tiny home was supposed to go, but the home never arrived, and the money is gone.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s just a bunch of different emotions,\u201d Morgan said.<\/p>\n
She found a tiny home listing online and selected a two-bedroom, one-bath model.<\/p>\n

She was contacted by a man who identified himself as Ian St. Clair, who said he owned Tiny Homes USA, according to Morgan.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe seemed like a decent guy,\u201d Morgan said.<\/p>\n
According to an invoice shown to News 6, the total price for the home was $52,000, with a $13,000 down payment. <\/p>\n
Volusia County detectives say Morgan then made two additional payments of $6,500 each, but the house was never delivered.<\/p>\n

The Volusia County Sheriff\u2019s Office arrested the man identified in the affidavit as Ian St. Clair. Detectives say his real name is Ian Stewart. <\/p>\n
Stewart was booked on charges that include fraud and grand theft, according to the arrest affidavit. <\/p>\n
News 6 found that Stewart has a criminal history.<\/p>\n
Court records show Stewart was arrested and later sentenced in 2014 to six years in prison for defrauding two people out of more than $100,000 in a mortgage fraud scheme.<\/p>\n
He is still on probation in that case, according to records.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Morgan and her son have been living in hotels since the purchase fell through.<\/p>\n
\u201cI try to stay strong for my son,\u201d she said<\/p>\n
Stewart has pleaded not guilty to the charges. News 6 reached out to his attorney but did not get a response.<\/p>\n
