TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Tallahassee man was sentenced to two years in federal prison for stealing over $50,000 in Department of Veterans Affairs funds, according to the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
Anthony Brewer, 47, pleaded guilty<\/a> to theft of government property in December.<\/p>\n Court documents show that Brewer agreed to serve as a fiduciary under the VA\u2019s fiduciary program and manage the benefits of someone who was unable to manage their own. <\/p>\n More on crime in our area:<\/p>\n As part of the agreement, Brewer agreed to use the funds for the support and desires of the beneficiary. <\/p>\n Court records show that instead, Brewer stole those funds between October 2020 and January 2023.<\/p>\n He was ordered to pay $53,567 in restitution.
