PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 From speedsters to hit-and-run DUIs, the Port St. Lucie Police Department said it had a busy weekend. <\/p>\n

The police department said on Monday that officers made nine arrests, including eight who were suspected of driving under the influence. <\/p>\n

“Each of these individuals made a choice that put themselves and others at risk, but they remind us all why safety matters,” PSLPD said in its Facebook post. <\/p>\n

Here are the nine arrests that were made over this past weekend: <\/p>\n

Heather Somps: <\/p>\n

PSLPD said Somps was arrested for a DUI near the intersection of SW Gatlin Boulevard and I-95. Her arrest led to her vehicle being towed, the police department says.<\/p>\n

Kenneth Dempsey:<\/p>\n

Dempsey was arrested near US 1, police say. He faces a DUI charge and his vehicle was towed as a result.<\/p>\n

Robert Luis De Jesus Pagan:<\/p>\n

Officers say Pagan wasn’t only driving under the influence. He was also driving at a high rate of speed on I-95. Following his arrest his vehicle towed.<\/p>\n

Kevin Wagner:<\/p>\n

Wagner was arrested for a DUI near the intersection of SE Walton Road and SE Village Green. The police department said as a result of his arrest his vehicle was towed.<\/p>\n

Police say they arrested Keihn near the intersection SE Crosstown and US 1.<\/p>\n

Franklin Hurtado:<\/p>\n

Near SW Quick Circle and SW Becker Road, officers arrested Hurtado. During his arrest his vehicle was towed.<\/p>\n

Terrence Toohey:<\/p>\n

The police department says Toohey was caught driving drunk near the intersection of SE Floresta Drive and SE Penn Ave. The vehicle was towed, PSLPD says.<\/p>\n

The police department says Hall was arrested for a DUI near the intersection of SW Tradition Parkway and I-95. The vehicle was later towed.<\/p>\n

Adam Alemaghides:<\/p>\n

Alemaghides wasn’t found driving under the influence, but he was arrested for operating a vehicle with a counterfeit license plate sticker near the intersection of SW Crosstown Parkway and SW Cashmere Boulevard.<\/p>\n
