{"id":176986,"date":"2026-03-03T23:16:11","date_gmt":"2026-03-03T23:16:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/176986\/"},"modified":"2026-03-03T23:16:11","modified_gmt":"2026-03-03T23:16:11","slug":"spring-break-travel-what-to-know-before-flying-out-of-tampa-international-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/176986\/","title":{"rendered":"Spring break travel: What to know before flying out of Tampa International Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>More than 3.1 million passengers are expected at TPA as global tensions, travel advisories and high demand shape this year\u2019s spring break travel season.<\/p>\n<p>TAMPA, Fla. \u2014 As millions of Americans prepare for spring break getaways, airports across the country are bracing for packed terminals, and Tampa is no exception.<\/p>\n<p>Officials at Tampa International Airport (TPA) say more than <a href=\"https:\/\/news.tampaairport.com\/tpa-gears-up-for-spring-break-surge-with-new-high-tech-upgrades\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">3.1 million passengers\u00a0<\/a>are expected to move through the airport during the 40-day spring break travel period, which runs through mid-April.<\/p>\n<p>While the airport is not anticipating record-breaking numbers, leaders say it will be busy, with the single busiest day expected to fall on March 22, when more than 90,000 passengers could pass through the terminals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s as many people as you\u2019d see at a home game for the Bucs, the Lightning and the Rays combined,\u201d said Beau Zimmer, public relations manager for Tampa International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>According to AAA, Florida cities dominate the list of top spring break destinations this year.
