FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. \u2014 The Broward Center for the Performing Arts is turning 35.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s Broadway in Fort Lauderdale season brings an exciting lineup of award-winning musicals, fan favorites and four productions never before seen at the Broward Center.<\/p>\n
Included are some of Broadway\u2019s most successful productions like Hamilton and Mamma Mia.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Broward Center has built something really, really special here, and I am very proud of our partnership with the Broward Center,\u201d said Broadway Across American President Susie Krajsa. \u201cAgain, 35 years to be in business together, and to be creating these experiences for patrons of all ages\u201d<\/p>\n
As the saying goes, there\u2019s something for everyone, truly. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a super comfortable theater, and it\u2019s very like South Florida,\u201d said Broward Center for the Performing Arts President and CEO Ty Sutton. \u201cI think it\u2019s vibrant and lively, from the natural wood to the carpet. I think it\u2019s true to the location. There\u2019s a lot of theaters these days, you walk in, you have no idea where you are. If you walk in in Fort Lauderdale, you\u2019re like, I am here. Let\u2019s party.\u201d<\/p>\n
From blockbusters like Death Becomes Her to The Notebook, the Broward Center is one of South Florida\u2019s premiere destinations for the very best in Broadway.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s also the audience is, they\u2019re super warm,\u201d said Sutton. \u201cThey love great performance, and they\u2019re really open to new ideas, too. So it\u2019s just a fun place to see a show.\u201d<\/p>\n
Just like in past years, they are pulling out all the stops, but this year that includes some special surprises. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a really incredible surprise,\u201d said Krajsa. \u201cSo this is the Broward Center\u2019s 35th anniversary, and you may have heard that when the Broward Center opened 35 years ago, the show that was presented was the Phantom of the Opera. So we are teasing that the Phantom of the Opera will be coming back on the 27-28 season.\u201d<\/p>\n
