More than 75 Jacksonville-area wrestlers have qualified for the FHSAA championships.This year’s FHSAA wrestling finals are March 5-7 in Kissimmee.Northeast Florida is coming off a season with no FHSAA wrestling titles in 2025.Clay County’s contingent is strong, with wrestlers from Clay, Middleburg, Oakleaf and St. Johns Country Day among the contenders.<\/p>\n

Jacksonville-area wrestlers carry a little extra incentive into the three-day Florida High School Athletic Association wrestling championships from March 5-7 at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee.<\/p>\n

That’s because in 2025, the not-so-magic number for Northeast Florida was zero.<\/a><\/p>\n

Wrestlers from the region were shut out of individual first place across all divisions in 2025, the first time that had occurred since 1988. This time, the recent track record points toward better results this time.<\/p>\n

The strongest momentum belongs to Middleburg, which wrapped up first-place finishes in both the Region 1-2A boys meet and the Region 1 girls championship.<\/p>\n

The Broncos won the boys regional at Tallahassee Chiles on Feb. 28 with 161 1\/2 points to the 143 1\/2 of runner-up Clay, getting individual titles from Daniel Raines at 157 pounds and Porter Loveland at 215. Clay also earned a regional trophy with the multi-talented Landon Martin, who has shown he can pass, rush and win wrestling championships at 190 pounds.<\/p>\n

Entering Class 1A with regional championships from Panama City Bay are Bolles’ Brett Bearden (215), Suwannee’s Holden Corbin (285) and St. Johns Country Day’s Bryce Fiore (113) and Howard Hill (150). Fiore, undefeated this year, has a genuine shot at a high school wrestling trophy while still in seventh grade.<\/p>\n

Class 3A wrestlers headed to state with regional titles are Bartram Trail’s Mario DiBella (126), Oakleaf’s Sebastian Bonachea (138) and Fletcher’s Theo Brase (190).<\/p>\n

On the girls side, Middleburg’s Fallon Dames (115) and Oakleaf’s Kailani Barrientos (135) won their respective divisions at regionals.<\/p>\n
