Orlando\u2019s storied theater and culture festival is celebrating its 35th anniversary, and it\u2019s going to be weird.<\/p>\n

The Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival will return to Loch Haven Park from May 12 to May 25. Fringe features a variety of theater, dance, comedy and art expression, and this year, it\u2019s weirder than ever with a new theme: \u201c35 Years Weird.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Orlando Fringe, longest-running installment in the U.S. has prided itself on uplifting authentically outrageous art. Artistic director Tempestt Halstead emphasizes that Fringe invites attendees to bring their unbridled curiosity.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cFringe has always been a place where artists get to show up exactly as they are and audiences get to experience something they cannot see anywhere else,\u201d Halstead said in a release. \u201cFor 35 years we have trusted artists with the space and that trust has built a community that keeps coming back. This year, as we celebrate \u201935 Years Weird,\u2019 we are not asking anyone to be anything other than curious.\u201d<\/p>\n

The festival offers more than 1,000 ticketed experiences at $15 each. Guests can also take advantage of several free programs, including the outdoor music festival, Kids Fringe and Visual Fringe, where patrons can view and buy art throughout the festival grounds.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In addition to its central location in Loch Haven Park, Fringe spans five venues at John & Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center, four venues at Orlando Family Stage and Kids Fringe will take place at the Orlando Garden Club.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This year, \u201cBring Your Own Venues\u201d features a new location at Ivanhoe 1915, along with returning venues at Renaissance Theatre Co., B-side at Ten10 Brewing Co. and The Starlite Room at Savoy. Additionally, artists will choose site-specific venues.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After 35 years of Fringe Orlando, the festival is paying homage to its core values. Tickets will be sold online<\/a> starting April 15.\u00a0<\/p>\n
