\n\t\t\t\t\t\tA 13-year-old boy who went missing Monday evening in Fort Pierce was found safe after a coordinated search by Fort Pierce police and Port St. Lucie police.Just after 5 p.m., Fort Pierce officers were called to the 2700 block of U.S. Highway 1 after the child was reported missing. As officers searched the area, they found surveillance video showing the boy walking toward a nearby neighborhood on Grand Club Place.Stay up to date: The latest headlines and weather from WPBF 25Around 6 p.m., Fort Pierce police asked Port St. Lucie police to help by sending their bloodhound team. While Fort Pierce\u2019s Drone Unit searched from above, PSLPD K-9 Officer Burdick and K-9 Hoot began tracking on the ground.K-9 Hoot followed the boy\u2019s scent straight into a wooded area near railroad tracks, where officers found him. At the same time, the drone team was able to spotlight the child, helping guide officers to his location. He was safely reunited with his family.Both departments say the teamwork between agencies and support from the community played a major role in bringing the boy home safely.
