The splash pad of Shrek\u2019s Swamp in Universal Studios Florida has been paved over with concrete, as the water play area is no more. The splash pad was part of\u00a0Shrek\u2019s Swamp for Little Ogres<\/a>\u00a0in DreamWorks Land, which opened in June 2024. About a year later, construction resumed on the splash pad. It was completely\u00a0blocked off and demolished<\/a>\u00a0by late September.<\/p>\n

A few weeks ago<\/a>, this was still blocked off with construction walls. It isn\u2019t completely plain, blank concrete; it has ogre and donkey prints stamped into it. For reference, below is what the splash pad looked like.<\/p>\n

We don\u2019t know the reason for the splash pad\u2019s removal. Guests can still meet Shrek, interact with Pinocchio, and play on the climbing gym. As visible in the images above, water guns were stationed on the upper level of the playground. These have been removed, as can be seen below:<\/p>\n

A wet floor sign has not been removed, serving as a reminder of the splash pad. The sign features the three blind mice as one slips on the water.<\/p>\n

Ironically, (as of March 2, 2026) the header image of the\u00a0Shrek\u2019s Swamp webpage<\/a>\u00a0is still the splash pad, and it still says kids can \u201csplish, splash and spray people with water in a swampy play area.\u201d<\/p>\n
