{"id":179683,"date":"2026-03-05T19:41:10","date_gmt":"2026-03-05T19:41:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/179683\/"},"modified":"2026-03-05T19:41:10","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T19:41:10","slug":"rising-young-maga-stars-joked-about-killing-black-people-in-miami-gop-group-chat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/179683\/","title":{"rendered":"Rising Young MAGA Stars Joked About Killing Black People in Miami GOP Group Chat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A group of young Republicans ran a group chat in which they used racial slurs like punctuation and came up with dozens of ways to brutally murder Black Americans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Republican Party\u2019s Miami-Dade County secretary, Abel Alexander Carvajal, a 23-year-old second-year law student at Florida International University and co-founder of the school\u2019s Turning Point USA chapter, created the WhatsApp group, initially called \u201cUber Ret&#8212;s Yapping Inc.,\u201d last September, according to the <a onclick=\"_sendArticleBodyInlineLinkClickAnalytics(&#039;https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/news\/politics-government\/article314928484.html&#039;)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/news\/politics-government\/article314928484.html\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/news\/politics-government\/article314928484.html\">Miami Herald<\/a> and <a onclick=\"_sendArticleBodyInlineLinkClickAnalytics(&#039;https:\/\/floridianpress.com\/2026\/03\/miami-gop-secretarys-group-chat-pushes-antisemitism-killing-n-ggers\/&#039;)\" href=\"https:\/\/floridianpress.com\/2026\/03\/miami-gop-secretarys-group-chat-pushes-antisemitism-killing-n-ggers\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/floridianpress.com\/2026\/03\/miami-gop-secretarys-group-chat-pushes-antisemitism-killing-n-ggers\/\">The Floridian<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Using the chat administrator name MaoTze Abel, a reference to Chinese communist despot Mae Zedong, Carvajal oversaw exchanges in which he and other members used the N-word and other variations of the slur more than 400 times.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Abel Alexander Carjaval\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/RTYW3NUKVNEATCBXWDFWCBZZ7U.jpg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"800\"\/>The group chat was started by Carjaval, founder of Florida International University\u2019s Turning Point USA chapter. Abel Alexander Carjaval\/Instagram <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Users, some of whom Carvajal has now recruited to local party leadership, also hurled antisemitic and deeply misogynistic insults at Jewish women and cracked wise about pleasuring themselves to Nazi propaganda. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cTotal Negro Death!\u201d Dariel Gonzalez, a former board member at Florida International University\u2019s College Republicans, reportedly wrote. On another occasion, he claimed that a Black American student had left the organization after another user called her the N-word. He has since applied to become a committeeman with the GOP\u2019s city chapter.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"JD Vance\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ZDVVJMOTFREZPJCVUWPYCL2I4Y.jpg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"533\"\/>Vice President JD Vance dismissed a similar incident last October as \u201ckids\u201d doing \u201cstupid things.\u201d Kevin Lamarque-Pool\/Getty Images <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Another group member\u2014identified by the Miami Herald as William Bejerano, a student at Miami Dade College who last year attempted to set up an anti-abortion rights organization at the school\u2014also appears to have posted a tirade in which he fantasized about killing Black people. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Sometime toward the beginning of October, the president of the college\u2019s Turning Point USA chapter, Ian Valdes, renamed the group chat \u201cGooning in Agartha.\u201d The terms refer to masturbating in a trance-like state, and a mythic civilization regarded by members of the Nazi regime as the homeland of the Aryan race. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Following the change in the group name, Valdes joked he\u2019d be \u201cgoing full goy,\u201d while Gonzalez described Agartha as \u201cHeaven inside the earth.\u201d Valdes further wrote he would \u201cdef not marry a Jew,\u201d and Gonzalez suggested it was best to \u201ckeep your c&#8211;k away from them\u201d for fear of having \u201ca little k&#8211;e running around.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Florida International University has confirmed to the Miami Herald the group chat is now the subject of a criminal investigation. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A local Republican Party source told The Floridian that Carvajal\u2019s role as local party secretary \u201cis not symbolic; it carries a responsibility to represent all members of the organization,\u201d including the district\u2019s 170,000 African Americans who are registered Republican voters, \u201cwith professionalism and respect.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Daily Beast has contacted the Miami-Dade GOP for comment. Carvajal told the Miami Herald that he generally ignored messages sent to the group, but that \u201cI guess to an extent, I bear some responsibility.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">He similarly told The Floridian he had no knowledge of the racist comments as they were being posted to his WhatsApp group, and which he at times appears to have responded to. \u201cNo,\u201d he said when asked whether he would be stepping down over the slurs. \u201cOf course not, for you know, for a chat where the messages that were stated were not mine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Kevin Cooper, chairman of the Miami-Dade County Republican Party, struck a different tone, telling the Miami Herald that \u201canyone associated with this chat should resign immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI am shocked and appalled at these statements.
