ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. \u2013 One of the two men wounded in a deadly shooting at a St. Johns County construction site<\/a> spoke to News4JAX on Thursday about what led to the incident.<\/p>\n

According to the victim, who was recovering from a gunshot to the leg, a co-worker went to confront Yovany Lopez-Cobo regarding alleged disturbing comments he made about the co-worker\u2019s girlfriend.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe decided he couldn\u2019t take it and had to confront him about it. Well, he confronted him about it. They were walking back and forth. Back and forth for five minutes. Just talking back and forth,\u201d the victim told News4JAX.<\/p>\n

Moments later, the argument turned violent. <\/p>\n

\u201cOut of nowhere, gunshots. Bam. Bam. Bam. Bam,\u201d the man recalled.<\/p>\n

Deputies said the incident began around 4:26 p.m. Wednesday when the sheriff\u2019s office received calls of shots being fired near the Courtney Groves subdivision of SilverLeaf, around Crimson Leaf Drive and Johns Island Parkway.<\/p>\n

The co-worker died, and two others were hit, but expected to recover.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s rough,\u201d the survivor said about his condition. \u201cI\u2019m doing the best I can. My fianc\u00e9 has been with me, so it helps a lot. I have my moments. Everything replaying in my head.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the arrest report, when deputies questioned Lopez-Cobo, he told them that an argument between him and the co-worker turned physical and that he shot the co-worker in self-defense.<\/p>\n

The report also said the entire incident was captured by surveillance video. But investigators said the video told a different story from what Lopez-Cobo recounted.<\/p>\n

The video reportedly showed the co-worker kick Lopez-Cobo in the foot and walk away. Afterwards, Lopez-Cobo was seen pulling out a gun and firing multiple shots at the co-worker. <\/p>\n

Lopez-Cobo was charged with murder and attempted murder.<\/p>\n
