ATLANTA, Ga. — \u00a0The postseason has arrived for the Florida A&M Rattlers women’s basketball, and the Rattlers are embracing the opportunity to make noise in the 2026 Southwestern Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament.<\/p>\n

Florida A&M enters the tournament as the No. 8 seed and will open play Tuesday at 11 a.m. Eastern at Gateway Center Arena against the winner of the opening-round matchup between No. 10 Texas Southern and No. 11 Bethune-Cookman.<\/p>\n

For the Rattlers, the tournament represents a chance to build momentum at the most important time of the season. Florida A&M has shown resilience throughout the year, battling through a demanding conference schedule while developing a defensive identity and a competitive edge that has kept the team in games against some of the SWAC’s top programs.<\/p>\n

Head coach Bridgette Gordon<\/a>‘s squad enters the tournament confident that its experience and toughness can translate into a postseason run. The Rattlers have relied on disciplined defense, rebounding and timely scoring throughout the season, and those elements often become the deciding factors in tournament basketball.<\/p>\n

Florida A&M’s path will not be easy, but it is clear. With a victory in its opening matchup, the Rattlers would advance to the quarterfinal round on March 11 at 11 a.m., where they would face top-seeded Alabama A&M.<\/p>\n

The tournament runs March 9\u201314, with the championship game scheduled for March 14 at 1 p.m. EST
