TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Crawfordville man is facing federal charges after allegedly chatting online and attempting to meet someone he thought was a minor, according to the Northern District of Florida U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
Anthony Lanier, Jr., 33, was indicted by a federal grand jury on one count of attempted enticement of a minor and one count of attempted transmission of obscene material to a minor, the attorney\u2019s office announced in a press release Friday.<\/p>\n
His indictment comes after he was arrested back in November following an undercover Tallahassee Police sting, according to his arrest documents. The 33-year-old man is accused of chatting online with an undercover officer posing as a 15-year-old, the records revealed.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, he allegedly arranged to meet her at a home, the court papers show.<\/p>\n
As a result, he faces four felony state felony charges in addition to his federal charges.<\/p>\n
Lanier, Jr.\u2019s jury trial is scheduled for May 4, per the attorney\u2019s press release.<\/p>\n
If convicted, the Crawfordville man faces a mandatory minimum of 14 years in prison and up to life imprisonment on the attempted enticement count. He also faces 10 years in prison on the attempted transmission of obscene material count, according to the release.<\/p>\n
