SOUTHWEST FLORIDA – Americans remain stuck in the Middle East, including Yoel Feigenson, an American student currently in Jordan. WINK News security analyst Rich Kolko provided the latest updates on the situation.<\/p>\n
Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz shared some good news regarding his sister, Gitty, who was previously interviewed by WINK News while in an Israeli bomb shelter.<\/p>\n
“My sister’s home safe. She’s back in Brooklyn, New York, and that was a trip, but she’s home. That’s good news,” said Minkowicz.<\/p>\n
However, Feigenson and his group of more than 100 people faced challenges while trying to return home. Although they were cleared for a flight on Thursday, their plans were disrupted.<\/p>\n
“They got the stuff together, they ran to the airport. They were checking in, and as they were boarding the plane, it turns out that they had to do a stop all flights in the air,” said Feigenson.<\/p>\n
The group hoped to receive clearance the following morning, but they were met with disappointment once again.<\/p>\n
“They said maybe they’ll give them clearance in the morning, 10 o’clock in the morning, their time, and came around in the morning, and again, they had no clearance,” said Feigenson.<\/p>\n
Currently, they remain in a waiting game, with hopes to depart either Saturday night or Sunday morning if everything goes as planned.<\/p>\n
“If everything goes picture perfect, the plan will be they would leave either Saturday night or Sunday morning,” said Feigenson.<\/p>\n
