{"id":181503,"date":"2026-03-07T00:37:06","date_gmt":"2026-03-07T00:37:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/181503\/"},"modified":"2026-03-07T00:37:06","modified_gmt":"2026-03-07T00:37:06","slug":"miami-real-estate-developer-arrested-over-fraud-charges-wsvn-7news-miami-news-weather-sports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/181503\/","title":{"rendered":"Miami real estate developer arrested over fraud charges &#8211; WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MIAMI (WSVN) &#8211; A prominent real estate developer has been arrested and charged with fraud.<\/p>\n<p>According to police, Rishi Kapoor faces several charges in an alleged $85 million fraud scheme.<\/p>\n<p>Court documents show he was the CEO of a company that was supposedly developing projects in Miami-Dade and Fort Lauderdale.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives said he raised millions from investors and then used some of the money for personal use, including purchasing a 68-foot yacht.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s also accused of failing to pay millions in taxes from 2019 to 2023.<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, Kapoor hired then-Miami Mayor Francis Suarez as a consultant while his subsidiary company was <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/miami-dade\/suarez-reportedly-under-ethics-investigation-over-alleged-payments-to-help-fast-track-coconut-grove-development\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">developing a project in Coconut Grove.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Suarez has not been charged in this case.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2025 Sunbeam Television Corp.
