Morrow and Kennen met nearly two weeks ago to discuss the future of the program and how the school is ready to begin participating in NIL and revenue sharing to compensate athletes.<\/p>\n
Kennen got the full-time job three days after UNF\u2019s loss to West Georgia in the opening round of the Atlantic Sun Tournament.<\/p>\n
In a statement to the Times-Union, Morrow wrote:<\/p>\n
\u201cCoach Kennen has led our men\u2019s basketball program the right way \u2013 with integrity, accountability and a deep commitment to the holistic development of our student-athletes.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt UNF, we evaluate our programs through a comprehensive lens and we recognize the challenges mid-major programs face in his era. We believe in Coach Kennen\u2019s ability to win at UNF and we are backing that belief with resources.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf we want championship-level results, we must pair championship leadership with championship-level support. That is exactly what we\u2019re doing moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n
A Florida native, Kennen started his coaching career in 1993 at Santaluces High as an assistant.
