(CBS12) \u2014 If having a stomach ache were a free pass to drive like a rocket, an Orlando woman might have had a case \u2014 but police say pain is not a valid excuse for hitting 136 miles per hour on a Florida highway.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Orlando Police Department, officers pulled over a woman on February 16 after clocking her dark-colored BMW at more than double the posted limit \u2014 136 mph in a 60-mph zone.<\/p>\n<p>Body-worn camera video shows the officer approaching the car and asking, \u201cWhat seems to be the hurry?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The driver replies, \u201cMy stomach really hurts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>See Also:  <a href=\"https:\/\/cbs12.com\/news\/local\/florida-12-year-old-accused-of-faking-school-shooting-threat-on-snapchat-after-being-dared-ake-school-shooting-threat-middle-school-threat-investigation-student-sent-messages-to-herself-volusia-county-sheriff-investigation-port-orange-school-threat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Florida 12-year-old accused of faking school shooting threat on Snapchat after being dared<\/a><\/p>\n<p>When the officer asks how fast she thinks she was going, the woman says, \u201cI don\u2019t know.\u201d She also couldn\u2019t confidently name the speed limit. Officers then informed her she was driving at dangerous, excessive speeds before placing her under arrest.<\/p>\n<p>Police posted about the traffic stop on Facebook, writing:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSorry, your stomach hurting is NOT an excuse to drive 100 mph on our roadways. Slow down, Orlando, or suffer the consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The department also highlighted Florida\u2019s newly strengthened Super Speeder law \u2014 now in effect statewide.<\/p>\n<p>What Is Florida\u2019s \u201cSuper Speeder\u201d Law?<\/p>\n<p>The law adds serious penalties for extreme speeding. Here\u2019s how it works:<\/p>\n<p>Driving 100 mph or more, orDriving 50 mph over the posted speed limit<\/p>\n<p>can now lead to:<\/p>\n<p>Up to 90 days in jailFines up to $1,000Mandatory court appearancePossible license suspension<\/p>\n<p>Law enforcement agencies statewide have been reminding drivers that the days of getting off with just a costly citation for triple-digit speeds are over.<\/p>\n<p>Police say the woman\u2019s arrest serves as a reminder that no matter the excuse, hitting extreme speeds on the highway will get you a trip to jail, not the bathroom.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"ORLANDO, Fla.
