Before free agency began, the Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a> were able to re-sign one of their top free agents, cornerback Montaric Brown.<\/p>\n

According to ESPN’s<\/a> Adam Schefter, this is a three-year deal, worth $33 million.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, the NFL Network’s<\/a> Cameron Wolfe reported that the Jaguars<\/a> were making a “strong push” late in the week to re-sign Brown and prevent him from hitting free agency. Many expected Brown to have a strong market.<\/p>\n

Brown, 26, is a former seventh-round selection by the Jaguars in the 2022 NFL draft, and has developed into a steady presence at outside cornerback.<\/p>\n

Brown took a big step forward last season, showcasing his abilities to start on a weekly basis and perform at a high level while doing so. He allowed a completion rate of just\u00a054% on 68 targets<\/a>\u00a0and held opponents to just 10.4 yards per catch.<\/p>\n

Brown also flashed impressive ball production, coming away with two interceptions and forcing nine pass breakups.<\/p>\n

With Brown back in the fold, the cornerback position for the Jaguars looks quite good, with Brown and Travis Hunter on the outside, Jourdan Lewis at the nickel, and Jarrian Jones providing depth.<\/p>\n
