Police are investigating the death of a skateboarder whose body was found on A1A in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday morning, March 10, 2026.<\/p>\n

A man was fatally struck by a car after falling off his skateboard on A1A in Fort Lauderdale early Tuesday morning, according to police.<\/p>\n

The 40-year-old man\u2019s body was found around 3:40 a.m. on A1A and Sunrise Boulevard, police said. Investigators closed A1A during the initial investigation, but it has since been reopened.<\/p>\n

Fort Lauderdale\u2019s Traffic Homicide detectives are investigating, said Casey Liening, a department spokeswoman.<\/p>\n

Police are looking for the vehicle that struck the man, but investigators have not determined if the case is a hit-and-run, Liening said.<\/p>\n

Police have not released the skateboarder\u2019s name, but said he is local and not a spring-breaker.<\/p>\n

The department is asking anyone with information about the man or the vehicle to call 954-494-8477.<\/p>\n
