{"id":186152,"date":"2026-03-10T20:17:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T20:17:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/186152\/"},"modified":"2026-03-10T20:17:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T20:17:07","slug":"entry-level-mansions-cost-under-1m-in-san-antonio-jacksonville-atlanta-chicago","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/186152\/","title":{"rendered":"Entry-level mansions cost under $1M in San Antonio, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Chicago"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Beyond the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/news\/trends\/americas-most-expensive-zip-codes-january-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">red-hot luxury coastal and resort markets<\/a>, a new wave of affordable luxury havens is emerging where a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/news\/trends\/million-dollar-homes-america\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">budget below $1 million<\/a>\u00a0can still secure a high-end estate.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The national luxury threshold, representing the top 10% of the housing market, reached $1.2 million in February, up 1% from the month before but down more than 3% compared to last year, according to the\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/research\/february-2026-luxury\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">latest Realtor.com\u00ae luxury report<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, in a handful of inventory-rich markets, mostly clustered in the Sun Belt, the entry point for luxury housing sits between 12% and 37% below the national benchmark.<\/p>\n<p>Among those elite \u201crefuge markets,\u201d\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/realestateandhomes-search\/San-Antonio_TX\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">San Antonio, TX<\/a>, led the way with a budget-friendly luxury threshold of just $750,510 in February, down roughly 4% year over year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In San Antonio, the typical \u201cstarter\u201d luxury property costs just 2.3 times more than the metro median of $319,990, a figure that is significantly lower than the national luxury-to-median multiple of 2.9.<\/p>\n<p>This pricing gap confirms that San Antonio is currently one of the most attainable luxury markets in the U.S. for 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Affordable luxury mansions are emerging on the market. Allison \u2013 stock.adobe.com<\/p>\n<p>The city is also anchored by major institutions such as Penn Medicine, Jefferson Health, the University of\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/realestateandhomes-search\/Pennsylvania\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Pennsylvania<\/a>, and Drexel University, which contribute to economic stability and overall quality of life.<\/p>\n<p>In the City of Brotherly Love, entry-level luxury typically takes the form of a well-designed condominium priced between $1 million and $2 million in a desirable neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBuyers consistently prioritize homes that support comfortable city living.
