A deranged Florida woman allegedly admitted to fatally stabbing her elderly roommate, a beloved veteran, when he tried to evict her \u2014 and cowardly stashed his body underneath a tarp.<\/p>\n

Shannon Rose Giblin, 48, clashed with 76-year-old Paul De Wayne Bradley at their Charlotte Ranchettes home late Sunday evening, just a week after the duo started sharing a living space. <\/p>\n

During the argument, Giblin allegedly slashed Bradley \u2014 and, realizing she\u2019d injured him \u201cbeyond help,\u201d concealed his body beneath a tarp and left him to die alone, according to a press release<\/a> from the Charlotte County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Giblin fled from their Punta Gorda home in Bradley\u2019s coveted pickup truck. By the time police arrived, Bradley was dead.<\/p>\n

Giblin was tracked down with Bradley\u2019s truck, and taken in for questioning. She allegedly confessed to the gruesome knifing, the release said.<\/p>\n

In her mugshot, a bedraggled Giblin stared down the camera, one brow cocked while she pursed her lined lips.<\/p>\n

Neighbors in the unlikely pair\u2019s community said that Bradley shared the home with his wife until she died a few years ago. He recently opened his doors to Giblin in hopes she could help him around the house, WINK News<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n

Adam LaFleur, a friend of Bradley\u2019s, told the Gulf Coast News Now<\/a> that Giblin had \u201cstarted doing some strange things\u201d and even \u201clied to him\u201d in the short week they lived together.<\/p>\n

Bradley caught on to Giblin\u2019s ruse and attempted to evict her, which LaFleur speculated sparked the fatal feud.<\/p>\n

Giblin allegedly hid Bradley\u2019s body underneath a tarp and made off with his pickup truck. Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office<\/p>\n

Now, Bradley\u2019s neighbors are trying to figure out what their community will be like without its charitable veteran. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe went through wars and came back, he survived a heart attack not long ago, and then this is what takes his life. Nobody deserves that,\u201d neighbor Jody Scharping told WINK News.<\/p>\n

Scharping said that Bradley reminded her of her own father, the type of \u201cold veteran who wouldn\u2019t hurt anybody.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody hated him. He was just a super nice dude. I didn\u2019t think anybody would ever do that to him,\u201d Scharping\u2019s son, Parker Daigle, added.<\/p>\n

Giblin\u2019s family alluded to \u201cdemons\u201d the accused murderer battled as part of \u201cThe Mental Health Crisis\u201d plaguing the world. They assured they wouldn\u2019t neglect Giblin\u2019s \u201cblame or responsibility for this crime\u201d in their rush to support her.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe only wish the paths that have led us here today could have been altered so many years ago, so as not to have resulted in so many losses for so many people,\u201d the family wrote in a statement to WINK News.<\/p>\n

Giblin was charged with murder and grand theft of a motor vehicle.
