\t\t\t\t\"\"<\/a>Brittany Broski, a popular internet personality, comedian and podcast host, is coming to USF as this semester\u2019s University Lecture Series guest speaker for USF week. SARAH BASKA\/WIKIMEDIA COMMONS<\/a>; ORACLE GRAPHIC\/YSABELLA ARDON<\/p>\n

USF\u2019s University Lecture Series<\/a> will host Brittany Broski, a 28-year-old influencer, podcaster, singer and comedian, at the Marshall Student Center for a speaker event on April 7.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The event will be held from 8 to 9 p.m. \u2014 with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. \u2014 in the MSC Ballroom, and will be free to students.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Broski first rose to fame in 2019 as the \u201cKombucha Girl<\/a>\u201d for her reaction to trying Kombucha, a fermented tea, for the first time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Now she is known through personal TikTok<\/a> videos, \u201cThe Broski Report<\/a>,\u201d a YouTube-based podcast about her personal interests, and \u201cRoyal Court<\/a>,\u201d a medieval-themed YouTube talk-show interview series.\u00a0<\/p>\n

USF will pay Broski $52,500 for her lecture, according to her contract<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Last year, USF hosted actress Lana Condor<\/a> as its USF Week speaker<\/a> for $65,000.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Though some USF students said personal plans will keep them from attending the event, others said they are looking forward to seeing and learning more about Broski\u2019s rise to fame.<\/p>\n

Lorraine Vaz, a student programs assistant at the Center for Student Involvement, said other candidates for the ULS could not be disclosed due to future collaboration opportunities.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Still, Vaz said speakers are chosen based on surveys, student interests, cultural relevance and educational value.<\/p>\n

\u201cEach semester, we explore several strong candidates who could bring something meaningful to the USF community,\u201d Vaz said. \u201cBrittany was one of the speakers who aligned exceptionally well with our goals for this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vaz said students have reacted well to the Instagram announcement<\/a> that Broski would speak at USF \u2014 with over 5,000 likes and nearly 170 comments.<\/p>\n

Vaz said she expects the event to be enjoyable, memorable and reflective of the USF spirit and the university\u2019s student body.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope that students enjoy this event as much as we have enjoyed planning it,\u201d she said. \u201cThe expectation is to create a memorable night that brings the community together and reflects the spirit of USF.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jillian Borie, a senior mass communications major, said she has been following Broski on social media for the last three to four years.<\/p>\n

Borie said she was \u201cexcited\u201d to see her be picked as USF Week\u2019s ULS speaker.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrittany Broski is one of my favorite influencers, and just seeing that she\u2019s coming here, I was like, \u2018This is a great person to have for the lecture series for my senior year.\u2019 It\u2019s my last one, [and the] best one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Borie said she is happy CAB found someone who fits into the \u201ctarget demographic\u201d of the student body and is someone students enjoy and interact with online.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really nice that they\u2019re able to be like, \u2018Okay, a lot of students are big fans of her, so let\u2019s see what we can do,\u2019 and I, as a student, really appreciate that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Borie said she plans on attending the event with two friends and is looking forward to listening to Broski speak about her career and to asking questions at the end of the performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love how authentic she is, because it\u2019s very difficult,\u201d Borie said. \u201cI mean, internet fame can be so fleeting, and she turned this meme into a franchise, a career \u2014 she just interviewed Harry Styles<\/a>, that\u2019s insane.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelsey Rodgers, a junior English major, said that although she is familiar with Broski and the speaker event, she does not plan on attending the ULS.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not the biggest fan of her, and her comedy doesn\u2019t really match my taste,\u201d Rodgers said.<\/p>\n

Despite her plans not to attend, Rodgers said she thinks the event will be good for students.<\/p>\n

\u201cI enjoyed it when Gaten [Matarazzo] came to campus,\u201d she said. \u201cSo, I don\u2019t imagine the event being that different from his.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matarazzo<\/a> visited USF in October 2025 and shared behind-the-scenes stories from \u201cStranger Things\u201d with students.<\/p>\n

Giada Anastasi, a sophomore biomedical sciences major, said she has seen a lot of Broski\u2019s videos on social media.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve [also] seen a few of her interviews, like the clips with the Bridgerton [actors]<\/a>,\u201d Anastasi said.<\/p>\n

Anastasi said she learned about the event through CAB\u2019s Instagram announcement and initially planned to go, but personal plans got in the way.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI am interested in going, but I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll have time to go to it,\u201d Anastasi said, \u201cI think she\u2019s entertaining and I\u2019d be curious to see what she has to say coming to USF.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even though she is unable to attend herself, Anastasi said she would recommend the event to other students.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it would be a good chance to see a popular social media personality coming to USF and having an interview,\u201d Anastasi said.<\/p>\n
