Port St. Lucie<\/a> and Jensen Beach<\/a> are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2016, but likely not for long. The Jaguars will venture away from home to square off against the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Port St. Lucie has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday’s game will give them a chance to turn things around.<\/p>\n Port St. Lucie lost 16-2 to Sebastian River on Thursday. The Jaguars haven’t had much luck with the Sharks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they’ve met.<\/p>\n Franklin Ferrone<\/a> was cooking despite his team’s loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jensen Beach). Everything went their way against Central on Tuesday as they made off with a 15-4 victory. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.<\/p>\n Seth Osborn<\/a> looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn’t given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.<\/p>\n On the hitting side, Colin Ryan<\/a> was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peter Braid<\/a>, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.<\/p>\n Jensen Beach always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. The team’s really been improving in that area: they’ve now improved their OBP total in five consecutive matchups.<\/p>\n Jensen Beach has been performing incredibly well recently as they’ve won six of their last seven games. That’s provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Port St. Lucie, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.<\/p>\n The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Port St. Lucie has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it’s not like Jensen Beach struggles in that department as they’ve been averaging an even more impressive 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.<\/p>\n Port St. Lucie might still be hurting after the 16-0 defeat they got from Jensen Beach when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Jaguars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself?
