Cape Coral<\/a> dropped down to 6-6 on Tuesday, ending the team’s three-game streak of wins. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gateway Charter Griffins<\/a>. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Seahawks couldn’t push the score so high this time.<\/p>\n Cape Coral saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julious Sinboualay<\/a>, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Sinboualay has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he’s played. Collin Thess<\/a> also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.<\/p>\n As for Gateway Charter, they are on a roll lately: they’ve won six of their last seven contests. That’s provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games.<\/p>\n On Gateway Charter’s side, Lisban Ramirez<\/a> made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Ramirez was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.<\/p>\n In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Anastasio<\/a>, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brandon Lackwood<\/a>, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.<\/p>\n Coming up, Cape Coral will welcome Mariner at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Seahawks’ pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tritons have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Gateway Charter, they will face off against Cardinal Mooney at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cougars’ pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Griffins’ hitters will have their work cut out for them.<\/p>\n
