Tampa comedian Cam Bertrand was bound for success, but his next local gig defies expectations.<\/p>\n
Over the years, Creative Loafing Tampa Bay named the 32-year-old \u201cBest up and Coming Comedian,\u201d<\/a> and later, \u201cBest Comedian\u201d <\/a>when he was living in Tampa.<\/p>\n The FAMU dropout lived up to the billing with a full calendar, performances around the country, a move to the newly-minted comedy capital of Austin, and a successful spot on \u201cAmerica\u2019s Got Talent.\u201d<\/a> And this Friday, he\u2019ll take the stage at the biggest comedy venue in the Bay area.\u00a0<\/p>\n Benchmark International Arena<\/a> is reserved for the Lightning, arena music acts and the most popular stand-up comedians. One of those comedians is Matt Rife, a viral sensation known for his crowd work, boyish good looks and not-so-subtle flirting with women old enough to have once claimed him as a dependent.<\/p>\n is all but sold-out (only single tickets remain as of this writing) and Bertrand will be there as an opener. In one night he\u2019ll tell jokes in front of more people than many established comedians do in a year.<\/p>\n Bertrand will be performing more dates with Rife during his Florida swing, but if you were late to get tickets you can see him headline his own shows at Side Splitters this May.
