The need for projects like Robles Park Village has become increasingly urgent.<\/p>\n
A housing needs assessment conducted by the city found Tampa is short\u00a0more than 26,000 affordable housing units.<\/p>\n
The shortage has been fueled in part by rapidly rising rents.<\/p>\n
Between\u00a02020 and 2025, rent prices in the Tampa area surged by nearly\u00a050%, placing additional financial pressure on residents already dealing with higher grocery and utility costs.<\/p>\n
The redevelopment will dramatically increase the number of homes available at Robles Park Village.<\/p>\n
The original community consisted of\u00a0433 housing units.<\/p>\n
When the new development is complete, the community will include\u00a0nearly 2,000 units, with\u00a0more than 1,200 designated as affordable housing.<\/p>\n
The first phase of construction is scheduled to begin in\u00a0April\u00a0and will add\u00a0nearly 200 units.<\/p>\n
Even with new funding secured, large-scale housing developments take years to complete.<\/p>\n
Projects must move through funding approvals, permitting, and construction phases before residents can move in.<\/p>\n
