CAPE CORAL, FL\u00a0\u2013 On March 11, 2026, at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers with the Cape Coral Police Department responded to a reported disturbance near the intersection of Santa Barbara Boulevard North and Northeast Pine Island Road. The initial call information indicated that during a road rage incident, the driver of a black Cadillac sedan had pointed a firearm at another motorist before fleeing the scene.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who reported being involved in a road rage encounter with a black Cadillac driven by a white male with dirty blond hair and a thin beard. The victim stated that the driver displayed a black handgun equipped with a green laser and pointed it in his direction while making threatening statements. Fearing for his safety, the victim attempted to distance himself from the vehicle.<\/p>\n

While canvassing the area, a patrol officer located a vehicle matching the description at the KFC parking lot on Hancock Bridge Parkway, approximately 200 yards from the incident location. The driver was identified as\u00a0Dismas Jeffrey Ballez\u00a0(DOB 08\/01\/2007).<\/p>\n

The investigation revealed that Ballez displayed his firearm, stating that he was \u201cscared\u201d during the encounter. A passenger inside the vehicle confirmed that Ballez had brandished the weapon and pointed it toward the other vehicle.<\/p>\n

During a search of the vehicle, officers observed and secured a black handgun with a green laser attachment in plain view on the passenger seat. The firearm was seized and placed into CCPD evidence.<\/p>\n

Dismas Jeffrey Ballez\u00a0was arrested and charged with the following:<\/p>\n

Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (F.S.S. 784.021(1)(a)).<\/p>\n
