{"id":1890,"date":"2025-10-14T08:59:31","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T08:59:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/1890\/"},"modified":"2025-10-14T08:59:31","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T08:59:31","slug":"man-stabs-woman-himself-while-driving-in-hialeah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/1890\/","title":{"rendered":"Man stabs woman, himself while driving in Hialeah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text text--small text--normal text--primary\">Published:\u00a0September 2, 2025 at 8:41 PM<\/p>\n<p class=\"text text--small text--normal text--primary\">Updated:\u00a0September 3, 2025 at 9:47 AM<\/p>\n<p>Man stabs woman, himself while driving in Hialeah, police say <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">HIALEAH, Fla.  \u2014 Police in Miami-Dade County are investigating a domestic stabbing incident. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/espanol\/2025\/09\/02\/hombre-de-70-anos-apunala-a-mujer-y-luego-se-hiere-a-si-mismo-hialeah\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/espanol\/2025\/09\/02\/hombre-de-70-anos-apunala-a-mujer-y-luego-se-hiere-a-si-mismo-hialeah\/\">Leer en espa\u00f1ol<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">It happened at approximately 7 p.m. Tuesday in the area of West 53rd Street and 12th Avenue in Hialeah.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">According to police, a man and a woman, both of whom are in their 70s, were traveling in a car when they began to argue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police said the argument escalated and the man, identified as Jorge Diaz, 70, stabbed the woman, causing the vehicle they were traveling in to crash into a van, before Diaz stabbed himself. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Witness Miguel Martinez says he saw the two bleeding pretty badly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThe guy came out of the car and (said) \u2018He\u2019s killing her, he\u2019s killing her,\u201d Martinez said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Both were rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital but authorities did not provide an update on their health condition. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police said Diaz will be charged with second-degree attempted murder once he is released from the hospital. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Detectives said they believe this is an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the community. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">It\u2019s unclear what led up to the initial argument between the couple. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body__copyright\">Copyright 2025 by WPLG Local10.com &#8211; All rights reserved.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Bridgette Matter\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/https:\/\/author-service-images-sandbox-us-east-1.publishing.aws.arc.pub\/wplginc\/2dda0f91-39c8-479e-9e.jpeg\"  width=\"100\" height=\"100\"\/>Bridgette Matter<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-author-bio__author-description\">Bridgette Matter joined the Local 10 News team as a reporter in July 2021.
