HIALEAH, Fla. \u2014 The Hialeah Police Department released surveillance video showing a murder early Wednesday<\/a> morning in a residential area just east of the Palmetto Expressway. <\/p>\n

The video shows a school bus before sunrise on West 56 Street at 20th Avenue, and a man walking at a fast pace out of the Palm West Gardens condominium complex at 1990 West 56 St. <\/p>\n

The man walks eastbound along West 56 Street on the southern sidewalk. Dairon Delgado follows him while wielding a firearm, points at his victim, and fires several times, according to police. <\/p>\n

Delgado, 37, walked back into the condominium complex and drove away with a woman in a black SUV, according to a police officer\u2019s arrest report. <\/p>\n

Police officers responded shortly before 6:20 a.m. and found the man who had been shot several times \u201cin the torso\u201d before fire rescue personnel pronounced him dead, according to the police arrest report. <\/p>\n

\u201cPatrol officers located a puddle of blood and eleven (11) spent casings,\u201d a police officer wrote, according to the arrest report. <\/p>\n

At 9:30 a.m., a yellow tarp covered the victim\u2019s body on the sidewalk. Residents in the neighborhood said they were afraid after the fatal shooting. <\/p>\n

Homicide detectives talked to a witness who had access to surveillance video and knew the tenants in the apartment complex, according to a police report. <\/p>\n

Detectives identified the woman who was in the black SUV with Delgado as his mother, whom he drove to work after the murder, according to a police report. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe advised she observed the defendant shooting a firearm,\u201d a police officer wrote, according to the arrest report. <\/p>\n

The victim\u2019s relatives told Local 10 News he was on his way to work when he was killed. Eddie Rodriguez, a spokesman for HPD, said the victim was in his 50s and described the shooting as a \u201crandom act of violence.\u201d <\/p>\n

Detectives reported finding a firearm in Delgado\u2019s black SUV\u2019s glove compartment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe firearm was inside of a black fanny pack observed on surveillance footage at the incident,\u201d a police officer wrote. \u201cThe fanny pack contained [Delgado\u2019s] passport and multiple identification cards within. The firearm caliber matched the caliber found at the scene of the incident.\u201d <\/p>\n

Hialeah detectives arrested Delgado at 12:55 p.m. on Wednesday at West Fourth Avenue and 18th Street, and Miami-Dade correctional deputies booked him shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, records showed.<\/p>\n

On Thursday morning, Delgado appeared before Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Mindy Glazer. He faced a charge of second-degree murder, and Glazer denied him bond, records showed. <\/p>\n
