Having been \u201cdissed\u201d in June for the charter committee by Council member\u2019s stake holder appointments, I find that all these stakeholder committees are handpicked.\u00a0Just like the Vacation Rentals stake holders who were 90% Realtors.\u00a0Thank you, Council member\u00a0Kilrane, and your violation of your campaign promise.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Regarding the proposed charter changes, another step backwards \u2014 why do we have to mandate a year\u2019s residency to run for office? Are we paying for Patti Cummings\u2019 violating the law?\u00a0Justice has been served.\u00a0 No need to change the charter.<\/p>\n
This is another ploy to eliminate citizens from the political process.\u00a0Shall we check to see if the candidate has a mortgage on the house?<\/p>\n
I highly recommend that Cape Coral citizens show up to the Public Hearings and speak against this limitation of the First Amendment and our rights.\u00a0 Remember your right to Citizens Input has been put last for a \u201cbusiness meeting.\u201d\u00a0 Whatever that means.<\/p>\n
I cannot support these Charter changes.\u00a0Vote No in the November election for charter revisions including the handsome pay raise for Council Members should that come forward.\u00a0 This is a civic duty, not a high-paying job.<\/p>\n
