{"id":191074,"date":"2026-03-14T03:38:14","date_gmt":"2026-03-14T03:38:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/191074\/"},"modified":"2026-03-14T03:38:14","modified_gmt":"2026-03-14T03:38:14","slug":"police-on-domestic-violence-call-shoot-kill-miami-area-man","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/191074\/","title":{"rendered":"Police on domestic violence call shoot, kill Miami area man"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A domestic violence call Wednesday night ended with a man shot dead by police and his pregnant wife taken to a nearby hospital, Sweetwater police said.<\/p>\n<p>Four officers answered a call about a domestic altercation in the 11600 block of Southwest Seventh Terrace around 6:25 p.m. Wednesday, said Sweetwater police executive communications director Alvaro Zabaleta. They saw a woman about five months into pregnancy and a man with a knife.<\/p>\n<p>Zabaleta said \u201ca confrontation ensued\u201d and at least one officer fired. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue declared the man dead on the scene and took his wife to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital because \u201cthere was noticeable bruising,\u201d Zabaleta said.<\/p>\n<p>Investigation of the police shooting will be handled by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, as is standard.
