PORT ST. LUCIE \u2013 A Miami man who Port St. Lucie Police say was planning to break into cars was arrested before dawn on Oct. 23.<\/p>\n
Germaine Samuel Mitchell, 22, of Miami, was on Southwest Deer Run in the gated community of Sawgrass Lakes in Port St. Lucie when he was spotted by a SWAT team officer at about 3:57 a.m., according to police reports.<\/p>\n
Police were responding to a 911 call from a citizen who said he saw a man, described as Black, lurking around his home and driveway in the 400 block of Southwest Deer Run, according to police reports.<\/p>\n
The caller was able to provide a detailed description from home security cameras, which provided the officer with information which led to Mitchell\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n
A Skydio X10 drone helped deputies track Mitchell from the air, leading pursuing officers straight to him and allowing them to take him into custody.<\/p>\n
Also found on Mitchell at the time of his arrest was a wallet from a neighboring home on the 500 block of SW Deer Run, which contained the victim\u2019s drivers license, debit cards and cash, according to police reports.<\/p>\n
Mitchell was charged with auto burglary, loitering & prowling and resisting without violence and is in the St. Lucie County Jail on a $3,150 bond.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"PORT ST.
