Sophia Trahan<\/a> got her team on the board early on , from which a compelling 6-0 scoring run stemmed for Tech.

The Hokies held their opponent scoreless until the second quarter, when the Seminoles went on a three-goal scoring run, leaving Tech with a narrow lead. Fouls from the home team late in the first half left Reese Wallich<\/a> and Sarah Murrell<\/a> on the eight meter line, which both sophomores capitalized on. Virginia Tech led 10-3 at the break.<\/p>\n
Tech pushed their lead to a game-high nine goals late in the third stanza, which Florida State responded to, once again, with an unanswered three goals.<\/p>\n
Goals from Reese Wallich<\/a> and Mia Pozzi<\/a> in the final frame held the new ACC opponent off, allowing the Hokies to take the win home to Blacksburg.<\/p>\n
Pozzi also won 10 draw controls, backed up by Murrell, who grabbed five.<\/p>\n
