{"id":193085,"date":"2026-03-16T04:43:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-16T04:43:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/193085\/"},"modified":"2026-03-16T04:43:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-16T04:43:07","slug":"dental-students-at-nova-southeastern-university-sponsor-5k-for-oral-cancer-prevention","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/193085\/","title":{"rendered":"Dental students at Nova Southeastern University sponsor 5K for oral cancer prevention"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text text--small text--normal text--primary\">Published:\u00a0March 15, 2026 at 10:17 AM<\/p>\n<p>Nova Southeastern dental students host 5K to raise oral cancer awareness <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">DAVIE, Fla.  \u2014 The students of Nova Southeastern University\u2019s College of Dental Medicine were out early on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">They were showing off their athletic abilities after sponsoring a special 5K. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Together, they were out to raise money and awareness for oral cancer prevention.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cToday, we are hosting our annual Oral Cancer 5K,\u201d said NSU student Alexandra Lueck. \u201cWe do this every single year to raise awareness for oral cancer because early detection is everything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The event took place on Sunday morning on the school\u2019s campus, located at 3300 S. University Drive in Davie.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cWe had over 200 participants today, and we raised over $10,000,\u201d said Lueck.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine <a href=\"https:\/\/dental.nova.edu\/clinics\/student-clinic.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/dental.nova.edu\/clinics\/student-clinic.html\">also offers a lot of programs for the community<\/a> to get much needed dental care at a low cost.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019ve earned our reputation as one of the elite dental schools with the best teaching clinics and renowned faculty in the Southeast,\u201d said Lueck. \u201cOur patients have access to a full range of dental services and providers. Our student clinics are just like a typical dental office. Our dentists-in-training and residents work with experienced dentists to provide your care.
