Momentum is building at the Key Biscayne K-8 Center, as teachers and instructors begin stepping forward to lead the first wave of after-school enrichment programs through the Key Biscayne Children & Education Foundation (KBCEF).<\/p>\n
Following the recent announcement that KBCEF would begin offering programming directly on campus, in collaboration with Miami-Dade County Public Schools and the YMCA, KBCEF is now unveiling a diverse catalog of courses designed to expand learning opportunities beyond the traditional school day.<\/p>\n

The initiative represents a new phase for the nonprofit organization, which has previously operated enrichment programs at St. Agnes Academy, Motivating Minds and through community programming on Village Green.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is where the vision really starts to come to life,\u201d said Oscar Sardi\u00f1as, President and co-founder of KBCEF. \u201cTeachers are stepping forward with ideas, families are showing interest, and we\u2019re beginning to build something that can truly enrich the school experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
The programs will operate in nine-week cycles and feature teacher-led classes across leadership development, academic support, creative arts, athletics, and technology.<\/p>\n

Parents have also responded positively to the idea of structured enrichment taking place directly on campus.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a parent, having these kinds of programs right at the school after the day ends is incredibly valuable,\u201d said one Key Biscayne parent. \u201cOur kids are learning new things, staying active, and doing it in a safe, familiar environment.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sardi\u00f1as emphasized that the initiative is designed to support multiple parts of the school community at once.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re creating opportunities on several levels,\u201d he said. \u201cStudents get access to engaging in new programs, teachers have a platform to lead and earn supplemental income, and the school benefits from additional resources and energy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Additionally, the program model also reinvests a portion of program proceeds back into the school community, helping classroom resources, teacher support, and future school initiatives.<\/p>\n
