{"id":193395,"date":"2026-03-16T12:27:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-16T12:27:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/193395\/"},"modified":"2026-03-16T12:27:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-16T12:27:08","slug":"zoo-miami-increases-security-after-days-of-bomb-threats-force-evacuation-of-guests-staff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/193395\/","title":{"rendered":"Zoo Miami increases security after days of bomb threats force evacuation of guests, staff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/miami\/tag\/zoo-miami\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">Zoo Miami<\/a> is set to reopen on Monday after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/miami\/news\/zoo-miami-closes-for-second-day-in-a-row-due-to-bomb-threat\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">days of bomb threats<\/a>, and when visitors arrive, they will notice some enhanced security measures in place as a result.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators are still working to determine who is responsible for making the calls, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/miami\/tag\/miami-dade-sheriffs-office\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">Miami-Dade Sheriff&#8217;s Office<\/a> stresses that the threats have been hoaxes.<\/p>\n<p>Despite that, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/miami\/tag\/bomb-threat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">bomb threats<\/a> have forced Zoo Miami officials to evacuate visitors and shut down the zoo for investigations over the past three days.<\/p>\n<p>Zoo Miami officials said that when the zoo reopens on Monday, there will be more security, police and K9s on site.<\/p>\n<p>No one has been hurt by the threats, but it has disrupted the zoo over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The series of events began on Friday when an anonymous call reporting a bomb threat was received.
