JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 It was a Sunday matinee for the second of a back-to-back meeting between the Jacksonville Icemen<\/a> and the Florida Everblades<\/a>, for the Kids Takeover and Publix Family Funday game. Jacksonville took a 3-2 victory, with Adam McMaster scoring the game-winning goal with 66 seconds left in the game, on a power play. The Kids Takeover saw children shadowing and assisting some of the game-day staff in their roles and duties. These roles included play-by-play broadcaster, PA announcer, photographer, social media content, DJ, equipment manager, artist, and ice crew.<\/p>\n After a scoreless first period in which Florida outshot Jacksonville 10-8, the Icemen would tally first. In a pretty evenly matched second period, Will Hillman scored just one minute into the period, to give Jacksonville a 1-0 lead. Florida\u2019s Oliver Cooper tied the game up at 7:14 of the period, deflecting a shot from Jesse Lansdell. Less than three minutes later, Jacksonville retook the lead on a goal by T.J. Friedmann, scoring from the right circle. <\/p>\n Jacksonville held onto the one-goal advantage late into the third period, until Ross MacDougall scored with less than six minutes left, for his first as an Everblade. With the game tied at two, Florida went on the man advantage, hoping for a late-game winning goal, like in the previous night\u2019s game. A shorthanded opportunity for Jacksonville was unsuccessful, but it cut Florida\u2019s power play short with a holding call penalty called against the Everblades. With less than two minutes left in the game, Jacksonville would have the man-advantage for 92 seconds once their penalty had expired. However, they needed only 52 seconds, with Adam McMaster scoring on a rebound shot, for the game-winning goal. With 66 seconds left in the game, Florida pulled Cam Johnson from the net, but it was to no avail.
