(WCTV) &#8211; A Tallahassee man accused of drug trafficking was sentenced in federal court Monday morning. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Federal court records show Garret Culpepper was sentenced to seven years in prison on charges of drug trafficking and possession of multiple firearms in the commission of that crime. The prison term will be followed by eight years of supervised release.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Culpepper was sentenced on federal drug charges.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/XRKUUYZXXFARPDS67D7YGELVLY.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>Culpepper was sentenced on federal drug charges.(Leon County Jail)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office said Culpepper <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2026\/01\/14\/tallahassee-man-son-former-lcso-deputy-pleads-guilty-drug-trafficking-firearms-charges\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2026\/01\/14\/tallahassee-man-son-former-lcso-deputy-pleads-guilty-drug-trafficking-firearms-charges\/\">entered a guilty plea in January<\/a> and could have faced up to life in prison on the charges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Garret Culpepper was indicted in September 2025 along with Sylvia Moore, and his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2025\/09\/12\/former-lcso-deputy-indicted-federal-firearms-charges\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2025\/09\/12\/former-lcso-deputy-indicted-federal-firearms-charges\/\">father former LCSO deputy Bill Culpepper<\/a> and accused of being a part of what federal prosecutors describe as a \u201clarge-scale drug trafficking scheme.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The federal indictments followed the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2025\/03\/19\/leon-county-school-resource-deputy-arrested-accused-helping-adult-son-traffick-marijuana\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2025\/03\/19\/leon-county-school-resource-deputy-arrested-accused-helping-adult-son-traffick-marijuana\/\"> arrests of all three in March 2025<\/a> after raids at their homes uncovered a marijuana grow operation, multiple firearms, tens of thousands of dollars in cash, \u201cover 15 pounds of marijuana and THC concentrate&#8230; and over 1,000 filled THC cartridges.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-center article-text\">More on crime in our area:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Bill Culpepper entered a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2025\/11\/03\/father-former-deputy-accused-drug-trafficking-scandal-enters-plea\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2025\/11\/03\/father-former-deputy-accused-drug-trafficking-scandal-enters-plea\/\">guilty plea last fall <\/a>to a federal charge of possession of a machine gun. He was spared a prison sentence, federal court records show, and was sentenced to three years on probation. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Federal court records show Moore &#8211; who shared a home with Garret Culpepper &#8211; will be offered a pretrial diversion deal which could ultimately result in the charges against her being dropped. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">All three are still facing drug trafficking charges in state court, prosecutor Sara Hassler told WCTV.
