TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The final holes of round two at the Seminole Intercollegiate picked up on Monday at 4 p.m. after a rainy morning at early afternoon. <\/p>\n
Florida State golfers were able to complete 34 holes on the first day of the tournament.<\/p>\n
Hitting the green was not easy with the howling wind. Collectively, the Seminoles shot par to remain four-under. They are the only team under par for the tournament and have a 12 stroke lead heading to the final round.<\/p>\n
World number-nine Tyler Weaver is third in the individual standings at 4-under. Wilmer Edero and Carson Brewer are tied fourth at one-under.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re very comfortable at this course so we\u2019re happy that we\u2019re at the top of the leaderboard, said Weaver, \u201dbut I know that everyone on this team feels that there\u2019s a little more out there for us. We\u2019re going to come out tomorrow in some hard conditions and come out strong.\u201d<\/p>\n
Head coach Trey Jones said the team prepared for the conditions ahead of the tournament.<\/p>\n
\u201cSomebody\u2019s going to play good, why not us? Why not you be that guy and have that kind of day,\u201d said the longtime head coach. \u201cIf you\u2019re playing good, you\u2019re not cold, the wind\u2019s not too bad or anything.\u201d<\/p>\n
The final round starts on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. The \u2018Noles are hoping for their first tournament win since the Tallahassee Regional last may.<\/p>\n
