(WCTV\/Gray Florida Capital Bureau) &#8211; The Florida Chamber Foundation released its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flchamber.com\/florida-2030\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.flchamber.com\/florida-2030\/\">Florida 2030 Blueprint<\/a> halftime report this week, outlining progress toward 39 measurable goals focused on economic growth, workforce readiness and quality of life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to the report, Florida has already achieved two Blueprint goals ahead of schedule, is on track to meet eight more and is making progress toward 14 additional benchmarks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Chamber said Florida is now the fourth-largest economy in the United States and ranks 15th globally, putting the state on track to reach a top 10 global economy ranking. Florida ranks first nationally in net migration of residents and income from other states, out-of-state visitors, and corporate relocations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Florida has also already met its 2030 targets to be the nation\u2019s top state for business startups and overall brand reputation as the best place to live, work, and compete.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-center article-text\">Florida Politics<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Since the launch of the Florida 2030 Blueprint, the number of children living in poverty has declined by 158,000. The report notes that more than half of children experiencing poverty live in just 15% of Florida ZIP codes \u2014 152 of the state\u2019s 983 ZIP codes \u2014 underscoring the need for targeted solutions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Cutting childhood poverty in half is a 2030 goal led by the Florida Chamber Foundation\u2019s Florida Prosperity Initiative.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Business and civic leaders surveyed for the report identified housing affordability as the single greatest risk to achieving the Florida 2030 Blueprint vision, followed by workforce development challenges and concerns about rising business costs. Leaders also emphasized the need to expand transportation, energy, and water infrastructure while ensuring rural communities benefit from continued economic growth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe know an all of the above approach is an effective way to ensure that we\u2019re addressing the issue for housing affordability,\u201d said Dr. Keith Richard, Florida Chamber Foundation VP of Research.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 WCTV.
