LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12)  \u2014 After the recent cold snap, many residents are noticing wilted leaves, brown fronds, and fallen branches in their yards. Clearing this debris is important for safety, storm readiness, and keeping the City\u2019s drainage system clear.<\/p>\n<p>To help, the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityofpsl.com\/Government\/Your-City-Government\/Departments\/Office-of-Solid-Waste\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/www.cityofpsl.com\/Government\/Your-City-Government\/Departments\/Office-of-Solid-Waste\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> City of Port St. Lucie\u2019s Office of Solid Waste<\/a> announced it will temporarily increase the weekly yard waste limit to 6 cubic yards per household from March 30 to April 24, 2026. Standard yard waste rules still apply.<\/p>\n<p>How to Dispose of Yard Waste Safely<\/p>\n<p>Bag Loose Leaf Litter<\/p>\n<p>Place loose leaves, needles, and small plant debris in bags or containers.Each bag or container should weigh less than 50 pounds.<\/p>\n<p>Bundle Branches Properly<\/p>\n<p>Branches must be under 6 inches in diameter, no longer than 4 feet (palm fronds excluded), and weigh 50 pounds or less.Stack piles neatly and keep them within the temporary 6-cubic-yard limit\u2014about the size of three washer-and-dryer sets side by side.<\/p>\n<p>Keep Piles Clean and Separate<\/p>\n<p>Do not mix yard waste with soil, rocks, garbage, or other materials.Place piles at the curb in front of your home, at least 3 feet away from mailboxes, storm drains, and powerlines.<\/p>\n<p>Need More Than Weekly Pickup?<\/p>\n<p>Residents can request extra yard waste removal for $18.50 per cubic yard by calling 1PSL at 772-871-1775.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"PORT ST.
