A hands-on leadership challenge event for middle and high school students who want to Step Up, Speak Up, and Stand Out.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, April 18, 2026, the Kate Tiedemann School of Business at USF St. Petersburg will transform into a high\u2011energy \u201creal life lab\u201d for 100 motivated middle and high school students from across Tampa Bay. The St. Pete Standout is a one\u2011day leadership and social\u2011skills competition where teens build confidence, communication, and character through fast\u2011paced, professional\u2011style challenges.<\/p>\n
Throughout the day, students rotate through Skills Sprint stations, \u201cWork the Room\u201d networking practice, and Hot Seat interview rounds led by local business and community mentors. Top performers advance to an on\u2011stage finals session where they answer questions and debate in front of an audience, turning all those nerves into real\u2011world poise.<\/p>\n
Designed for kids who shrink back and for natural extroverts who need polish, Standout gives teens a rare chance to practice handshakes, intros, listening, judgment, and thinking on their feet in a supportive, coached environment that looks nothing like school\u2014but everything like the world they\u2019re heading into.<\/p>\n
