A Florida man who went viral for his uncanny resemblance to deceased sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein spoke out on Thursday and addressed the kerfuffle.<\/p>\n
A video posted last Friday showed a man<\/a> wearing a backwards baseball cap driving down a Florida highway in a convertible with the top down. The man who shot the video<\/a> narrated it, stating, \u201cEpstein is alive. Epstein is alive!\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cDude has to get this constantly,\u201d one user replied. \u201cTime to grow a beard.\u201d<\/p>\n On Thursday, the Epstein lookalike responded.<\/p>\n \u201cHey everybody, this is Palm Beach Pete,\u201d he said while driving. \u201cAnd my video went viral because some dude randomly filmed me while I was driving on I-95, unbeknownst to me. And the next thing I know, I\u2019m a viral sensation. I had my phone down for about four hours and didn\u2019t know my phone was blowing up with all these comments from that video. So, it got a lot of traction. It\u2019s pretty crazy. Thanks.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSo, you\u2019re not Jeffrey Epstein?\u201d a man off-camera asked.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not Jeffrey Epstein,\u201d he replied. \u201cI\u2019m Palm Beach Pete.\u201d<\/p>\n Epstein died in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019 in what authorities say was a suicide. He has been back in the news as the Department of Justice has released many \u2013 but not all of its files \u2013 on Epstein. Last year, Congress passed a law mandating the DOJ release all of its Epstein files with only the names of the victims redacted.
