TALLAHASSEE –\u00a0 The No. 10 Florida State softball team (25-4, 3-0) continues ACC play this weekend as it hosts Cal (10-19, 1-5) at the Seminole Softball Complex. First pitch on Friday is set for 6 p.m. and can be seen on ACC Network with Kevin Fitzgerald (Play by Play) and Carol Bruggeman (Color) on the call. Saturday’s game is set for 1 p.m. and Sunday’s game is set for noon. Both games can be seen on ACCNX.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Seminoles Host Cal This Weekend

\n\tFSU has won 14 consecutive games as it prepares for another ACC series against Cal this weekend.\u00a0

\n\tThe Noles rolled to a 4-0 record last week with a midweek win over South Alabama and dominating Syracuse in their first ACC series of the year.\u00a0
\n\tFSU defeated South Alabama 8-4 before outscoring Syracuse 36-8 over the course of the three games.\u00a0
\n\tIsa Torres<\/a> and Jaysoni Beachum<\/a> led the Noles offensively. Torres went a perfect 9-for-9 at the plate with two home runs and four RBI while Beachum hit .545 with two home runs and 12 RBI.\u00a0
\n\tJazzy Francik<\/a> and Ashtyn Danley<\/a> were nails in the circle for the Noles as the duo combined to throw 11.2 innings and did not allow an earned run over the course of the week.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\nTorres Putting Together One of the Greatest Offensive Runs in College Softball History<\/p>\n


\n\tIt’s been eight games since Isa Torres<\/a> has returned from injury, and all she has done is put together one of the most impressive offensive runs in college softball history.\u00a0
\n\tIn her last eight games, Torres is 24-for-27 (.889) and has 11 hits in her last 11 at-bats.\u00a0
\n\tTorres has reached base in her last 18 plate appearances and has reached base in 60 out of her 85 plate appearances this season for a .705 on base percentage.\u00a0
\n\tEven after missing eight games, Torres is still 10th in the country with 46 hits.\u00a0
\n\tIn the March 6 win at Coastal Carolina, Torres set a school record with six hits in six at-bats for the Seminoles.\u00a0
\n\tTorres is just the third Seminole to record over five hits in a game and is the first Division I player since 2017 to record six hits in a seven-inning game.\u00a0
\n\tTorres leads the NCAA with a .648 batting average.
\n\tOver the course of her career, Torres is hitting .435 which ranks sixth among active D1 players but is second among active DI players that have recorded over 450 at bats.\u00a0
\n\tTorres has also been rock solid at shortstop this season as the junior has not committed an error in 63 chances.\u00a0
\n\tAgainst Dartmouth, Torres hit an inside-the-park home run to end the game in six innings. Torres was the first Seminole to hit an inside-the-park home run since Carsyn Gordon on May 19, 2018.\u00a0
\n\tTorres had a record season in 2025 as she broke the FSU record with a .436 batting average.\u00a0
\n\tMaybe the most impressive stat in Torres’ 2025 season was that she struck out just five times in 218 at bats.\u00a0
\n\tTorres tallied 95 hits in 2025 which was the third most in FSU history.
\n\tTorres was a Top 10 Finalist for the USA Softball Player of the Year award and was a unanimous Preseason All-American.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\n\tFSU returns two NFCA All-Americans in Isa Torres<\/a> (First Team) and Kennedy Harp<\/a> (Second Team). Torres and Harp have the second-highest combined batting average of returning players in college softball. Torres (.436) and Harp (.412) hit a combined .424 last season. The only duo to have a higher batting average was Jordy Frahm (.462) and Ava Kuszak (.412) at Nebraska
\n\tIn the circle, the Noles return the top pitching duo in the ACC in Jazzy Francik<\/a> and Ashtyn Danley<\/a>. Francik (1.51) and Danley (1.60) had the two-lowest ERAs in the ACC and have the lowest combined ERA of any returning duo in college softball.\u00a0
\n\tFSU is one of two programs in the Power Four to not have a transfer on its roster. Virginia is the only other P4 team to not have a transfer on its roster.\u00a0
\n\tFSU brings in nine true freshmen, and the class was ranked the No. 3 overall class by On3. Bella Ruggiero<\/a> is also a redshirt freshman who was the No. 13 overall player by On3.

\n\tFSU has only been known for its success in the circle, but the offense has been one of the nation’s best the past couple of seasons.\u00a0
\n\tThe offense has caught fire in its last 10 games.\u00a0
\n\tIn the last 10 games, FSU is hitting .399 as a team, has hit 14 home runs and scored 100 runs to average 10 runs per game. \u00a0
\n\tIn its first 19 games of the season, FSU hit .340 and had 16 home runs and averaged 7.05 runs per game.\u00a0
\n\tFSU currently ranks 14th in the country in batting average (.362), third in the country in doubles (63), 10th in the country in hits (271), 16th in the country in on-base percentage (.452), 11th in the country in runs per game (8.07) and seventh in the country in triples (11).\u00a0
\n\tIn 2025, FSU finished in the top 10 in the country in batting average, hits, RBI, runs per game and triples.\u00a0

\n\tOne thing about the Noles is that if they can get extra bases, they will.\u00a0
\n\tFSU has been one of the nation’s best teams at hitting doubles the past five seasons and this year seems to be no different.\u00a0
\n\tFSU has ranked in the top 25 in doubles every year for the past five seasons and has ranked in the top 10 in doubles in three of those seasons. FSU led the nation in doubles in 2023.\u00a0
\n\tThis year, FSU is third in the entire country with 63 doubles and is on pace to break the school record of 122 doubles which was set in 2023.\u00a0
\n\tMarin Heller<\/a> and Isa Torres<\/a> have led the way in the doubles’ department as the duo has 10 doubles a piece which is tied for third in the ACC.\u00a0
\n\tFSU has also been great at getting three bags this season.\u00a0
\n\tFSU ranks seventh in the country with 11 triples.\u00a0

\n\tOne of FSU’s most improved areas this season has been in the field.\u00a0
\n\tSo far this season, FSU holds a .983 fielding percentage which ranks sixth in the country and 1st in the ACC.
\n\tFSU has committed just 12 errors in 765 chances.\u00a0
\n\tFSU is also one of the best teams in the country in turning double plays. FSU has turned 14 double plays this season which leads the ACC and is 16th in the country.\u00a0
\n\tLast season, FSU had a .963 fielding percentage that ranked 131st in the country and 10th in the ACC.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\n\tLonni Alameda<\/a> expected big things out of the freshmen class this season, and they have delivered so far.\u00a0
\n\tThrough 29 games, Marin Heller<\/a>, Makenna Sturgis<\/a>, Anna Hinde<\/a> and Hayley Griggs<\/a> have combined to hit .332 with nine home runs and 67 RBI.\u00a0
\n\tIn the win over FAU, 9 out of FSU’s 13 hits came from true freshmen and 7 out of FSU’s 9 RBI came from true freshmen.\u00a0
\n\tCoach Alameda started four freshmen on opening day for the first time in her time at Florida State. FSU and NC State are the only P4 programs to start four true freshmen on opening day.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\nBeachum Continues to Be One of Nation’s Most Dangerous Bats<\/p>\n


\n\tJaysoni Beachum<\/a> has become one of the nation’s most dangerous bats in all of the country and looks to be back to her normal self in 2026.
\n\tSo far in 2026, Beachum is hitting .403 with a team-leading six home runs and 40 RBI.\u00a0
\n\tBeachum has reached base safely in her last 17 games.\u00a0
\n\tBeachum has also been walked 27 times this season giving her a .555 on base percentage. Beachum has drawn 0.93 walks per game which leads the ACC and is 7th in the entire country.\u00a0
\n\tIn three seasons, Beachum holds a .369 batting average with 33 home runs and 51 RBI.\u00a0
\n\tBeachum’s 33 home runs ranks 10th all-time in FSU history.\u00a0
\n\tAfter winning the NFCA Freshman of the Year award in 2024, Beachum’s numbers took a dip, but she was still very effective as she hit 11 home runs and 45 RBI.\u00a0
\n\tIn her freshman season, Beachum hit .417 which is the fourth-best mark in FSU history.\u00a0
\n\tAlso in her freshman campaign, Beachum broke the freshman record with 66 RBI and had the second-most home runs as a freshman in FSU history with 16.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\n\tJazzy Francik<\/a> has picked up right where she left off in her freshman campaign in 2025.\u00a0
\n\tSo far this season, Francik has a 10-1 record and 1.75 ERA.
\n\tFrancik has allowed just 16 earned runs and has 53 strikeouts.
\n\tFrancik won back-to-back ACC Pitcher of the Week awards to start the season. Francik is the first FSU pitcher to win back-to-back ACC Pitcher of the Week awards since Meghan King in 2019.\u00a0
\n\tOn opening week, Francik picked up three wins, did not allow a run in 17 innings and threw a no-hitter on opening night against Samford.\u00a0
\n\tFrancik’s no-hitter against Samford was the second no-hitter on opening day in FSU history. Francik joined Julie Larsen who threw a no-hitter against West Florida on opening day in 1986.\u00a0
\n\tFrancik’s 17 consecutive scoreless innings was the longest streak to start a season since Meghan King in 2019. King threw 18 scoreless innings to start the season.\u00a0
\n\tFrancik finished 2025 with a 1.51 ERA which was the lowest ERA in the ACC and the lowest ERA of any freshman in the country.\u00a0
\n\tFrancik finished with a 10-3 record and pitched 92.2 innings.\u00a0
\n\tFrancik recorded eight saves which was a freshman record at FSU and the second-most in school history.
\n\tFrancik struck out 87 batters and surrendered just 19 walks and held opponents to just a .191 batting average.\u00a0
\n\tFrancik allowed just 14 extra base hits in 2025.\u00a0
\n\tOn May 3, 2025, Francik threw the first ever no-hitter against a ranked opponent against Virginia Tech. \nKennedy Harp<\/a> Looking for Another Big Season Following Injury\u00a0<\/p>\n


\n\tKennedy Harp<\/a> came onto the scene in a big way in 2025, but her season was cut short due to a season-ending knee injury on April 27 but returned to full action on Feb. 25 and did not disappoint.\u00a0
\n\tHarp started all five games against FAMU, FGCU and Rutgers and hit .583 with one home run and a team-leading seven RBI. Harp recorded a hit in all five games she played.\u00a0
\n\tHarp is hitting .319 with three home runs and 16 RBI.\u00a0
\n\tIn 49 games, Harp hit .412 with nine home runs and 49 RBI with a .765 slugging percentage.\u00a0
\n\tHarp added 10 triples which was the third-most in FSU history and the most in the country.\u00a0
\n\tHarp broke the school record for most consecutive games with an RBI as Harp recorded a RBI in her first 10 games to start the 2025 season.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\n\tThe past two seasons, Ashtyn Danley<\/a> has taken the reins as a leader in the circle for the Seminoles and has not disappointed.\u00a0
\n\tIn three seasons with the Garnet and Gold, Danley holds a 38-9 record and a 2.59 ERA in 283.1 innings.\u00a0
\n\tSo far this season, Danley is 5-1 with 14 appearances in the circle and holds a 3.50 ERA.
\n\tDanley has taken a huge jump offensively this season as she has already reached her 2025 hits and RBI totals. Danley is hitting .325 with two home runs and 18 RBI.\u00a0
\n\tDanley made a huge jump between her freshman and sophomore seasons in the circle as she posted a 1.60 ERA last season after a 3.20 ERA in her freshman season.\u00a0
\n\tDanley’s 1.60 ERA last season ranked 11th in the country and was second behind Francik in the ACC.
\n\tIn her last seven appearances of 2025, Danley allowed just one earned run over the course of 20.1 innings.\u00a0
\n\tDanley also saw more time in the batter’s box last season was great for FSU as she hit .386 in 70 at bats with two home runs and 14 RBI.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\n\tAnna Hinde<\/a> has had no troubles adapting to the college game so far in her young career.\u00a0
\n\tHinde is hitting .348 and has reached base in 24 out of the 29 games this season and has recorded a hit in 20 out of the 29 games.
\n\tHinde went on an 8-game hitting streak from Feb. 12-21 which included games against No. 1 Texas Tech, No. 7 UCLA, No. 3 Tennessee and No. 9 Alabama.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\n\tMakenna Sturgis<\/a> has been another breakout freshman for the Seminoles and is coming off the best weekend of her young career.\u00a0
\n\tSturgis is hitting .397 this season and has three home runs and 19 RBI. \u00a0
\n\tIn the Dugout Club Classic, Sturgis hit .600 with one home run and four RBI.\u00a0
\n\tSturgis had a stretch against Alabama (2x), Dartmouth and Elon where she went 6-for-6 with three RBI and a home run. Sturgis was 4-for-5 in the two games against Alabama.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
