PROVIDED

One of Cape Coral’s largest marinas has new leadership.

Tarpon Point Marina this week announced the appointment of Stephanie St. Romain as its new harbor master and general manager. Tarpon Point officials said St. Romain brings extensive maritime expertise and a service‑driven leadership style to one of the region’s most prominent marinas.

“I’m definitely excited to be here, and the opportunity came about at a time when it felt right,” St. Romain said. “A lot of my background has naturally led me here. I spent years working in boating and marine operations, as well as hospitality and leadership. This role brings all of those things together. It was a natural fit.”

Having stepped into the role now for three weeks, St. Romain oversees all marina operations and leads strategic coordination across the Tarpon Point waterfront. A U.S. Coast Guard 100‑ton licensed captain, she previously co‑owned and operated the largest charter yacht fleet in Hawaii. Her background also includes experience in law enforcement, further strengthening her approach to safety, discipline, and operational best practices.

“A lot of my preparation comes through real hands-on experience,” St. Romain said. “I’ve worked in marine environments where safety, logistics, customer service, vessel operations, and team coordination all matter every single day. That kind of experience teaches you how to stay calm under pressure and solve problems and communicate clearly and keep things moving. Specifically, my background in vessel operations, hospitality, and leadership has prepared me well for the mix of responsibilities.”

A Hawaii native, St. Romain has lived in Cape Coral since the pandemic as her family relocated during that time. She said she was previously familiar with the Cape and Sunshine State as a whole from vacations to Fort Lauderdale and the Florida Keys.

“I love the area,” St. Romain said. “What I love about Southwest Florida is the waterfront lifestyle. There is a natural beauty and the way of life here is so connected to the water. There’s something special about that. The people here appreciate boating, being outdoors, hospitality, and community. I connected with that very much. I have a real passion for beautiful waterfront spaces that bring people together and Southwest Florida has so much of that.”

As for her goals early on in her tenure, St. Romain said she’s all-ears in wanting to listen first. She also mentioned learning the property thoroughly, supporting staff, and building strong relationships with people who are a part of the harbor community.

“For me, success in a role like this means creating a professional, welcoming, well-run environment where people feel taken care of,” St. Romain said. “I think consistency and communication and being hands on are all really important, and that’s the approach I plan to bring.”

Tarpon Point Marina serves as a central hub for boating enthusiasts, long‑term slip holders, and visiting vessels exploring Southwest Florida’s waterways. Although Tarpon Point Marina and the on-location resort in The Westin Cape Coral operate independently, the marina plays an integral role in shaping the resort’s guest offering and enhancing the appeal of the Tarpon Point community as a premier Southwest Florida destination.

“Stephanie’s depth of maritime expertise and collaborative leadership style make her a tremendous partner,” said Robert Nokley, the general manager of The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village. “We look forward to working closely together to continue elevating the guest experience across the entire property.”

St. Romain said she’s thrilled about her new opportunity, and doubled-down on her love for the area.

“It’s just been an absolute pleasure being here. I feel connected to the water and the land, which was a big part of just who I am as a person,” she said. “I feel it and see it in other people as well who are down here. I’m proud of this. We’re all proud to take it on I’m excited to be a part of it.”

Tarpon Point Marina, Tarpon Point is at 6179 Black Marlin Lane.

To reach CJ HADDAD, please email cjhaddad@breezenewspapers.com

Stephanie St. Romain brings extensive maritime expertise to her role as harbor master and general manager at Tarpon…

[14
209,211,210
post-199508","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-cape-coral","tag-cape-coral","tag-cape-coral-headlines","tag-cape-coral-news
["GET
