MIAMI SHORES, Fla. \u2014 A 28-year-old Miami Gardens mother was behind bars on Friday, accused of child neglect in Miami Shores, records showed. <\/p>\n
Police officers found a little girl on Thursday at the parking lot of a Dollar Tree store at 9055 Biscayne Boulevard, according to an arrest report. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe child appeared to be in good physical health, but was crying profusely, and appeared to be in shock,\u201d a police officer wrote, according to the arrest report. <\/p>\n
The girl\u2019s mother, Deja Lundy, had more children with her when she started to argue with \u201cseveral juveniles on bicycles in the parking lot, causing a disturbance,\u201d according to the police report. <\/p>\n
Lundy \u201clost awareness of the child\u2019s whereabouts … the child was observed running around the parked vehicle and into the roadway … the child entered a median containing bushes where she fell,\u201d a police officer wrote, according to the arrest report. <\/p>\n
When the girl saw Lundy\u2019s Dodge van leave without her, she started screaming and crying, so witnesses approached her, tried to comfort her, and called 911, according to police. <\/p>\n
Lundy \u201creturned to the location approximately 30 minutes after leaving,\u201d a police officer wrote, according to the arrest report. <\/p>\n
Miami Shores police officers arrested Lundy shortly after 9 p.m. on Thursday, and Miami-Dade corrections booked her shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Friday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. <\/p>\n
Police officers contacted the Florida Department of Children and Families. They released the girl to her maternal grandmother, according to police.<\/p>\n
Lundy faced a charge of child neglect. Her bond was $2,500. Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Richard Hersch was set to preside over the case. <\/p>\n
