From Harry Styles\u2019 Pleasing<\/a> to celeb-favorite Nude Project<\/a> and Alo<\/a> for the local yogis, fashion and lifestyle pop-ups are all the rage in Miami these days. As popular brands like Uniqlo<\/a>, Skims<\/a>, and Bombas<\/a> plant their flags in South Florida, temporary pop-ups have become a reliable way to gauge interest in more permanent options down the line.<\/p>\n

This weekend, it\u2019s Los Angeles-based activewear brand Set Active\u2019s turn to test the waters, and if Saturday\u2019s turnout is any indication, there\u2019s a rabid appetite for the brand to expand its footprint in Miami. Acolytes began lining up before the crack of dawn for a chance to snag pieces from the brand\u2019s new Club Set collection, days ahead of its online drop on Wednesday, March 25.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeen here since 5:30 a.m.,\u201d one TikTok user captioned their video showing dozens of people sitting along a chainlink fence. Some sat on the sidewalk, others in camping chairs. Others snacked as they waited for the pop-up to open at 10 a.m.<\/p>\n

The brand, founded by Lindsey Carter, announced earlier this week that attendees would find pieces from Club Set, as well as its last drop, Set Sportswear. Customers are allowed to purchase only two items of the same style, but they can shop as many styles as they wish. Freebies and a photo booth also await.<\/p>\n

Still, a quick scan of Set Active\u2019s Instagram account suggests its popularity in Miami might have caught the brand off guard. At around 1 p.m. on Saturday \u2014 just three hours after the pop-up opened \u2014 Set Active posted that eight of its merch items were either sold out or running low in stock. A few minutes later, the company posted that \u201cAll Club Set items in XS are 95% sold through.\u201d As a consolation, Set promised all attendees would receive \u201can early access QR code to get first dibs\u201d when the collection drops online on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Some customers took to the brand\u2019s comment section to express their disappointment.<\/p>\n

\u201cBig Set Active fan here, but this was really disappointing,\u201d one user commented. \u201cI was within the first 200 in line, and everything was already sold out with no communication at all. I waited 5 hours and wasn\u2019t able to purchase anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAbsurd!!\u201d added another. \u201cMy daughter signed up for the pop up in Miami! We Waited three hours in line and when was almost our turn to get in store there was nothing left sizes Small or medium!\u201d<\/p>\n

The pop-up is scheduled to run through Sunday evening at 2300 N. Miami Ave. in Wynwood.<\/p>\n
