(WSVN) &#8211; As the ongoing partial government shutdown continues nationwide, travelers at Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport are reacting to President Trump\u2019s calls to <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/us-world\/ice-officers-soon-will-help-with-airport-security-unless-democrats-end-shutdown-trump-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">deploy Immigrations and Custom Enforcement agents<\/a> to major U.S. airports.<\/p>\n<p>In a social media post, President Trump said that he will deploy ICE agents to U.S. airports on Monday, and told them to \u201cget ready.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSooner the better, let\u2019s get this done, let\u2019s give the relief to the TSA workers,\u201d said traveler Barry Ivie. \u201cA message to all politicians, let\u2019s get it done.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s got a lot of crazy ideas. So I don\u2019t, it probably won\u2019t happen like a lot of things he says,\u201d said traveler Bob Aukema.<\/p>\n<p>At MIA, passengers moved quickly, as the wait time for security on Saturday was posted at nine to 13 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe weren\u2019t expecting any problems. And we didn\u2019t have any problems,\u201d said traveler Dave Warner.<\/p>\n<p>Around the country, other airports have had major lines due to the TSA shortage.<\/p>\n<p>At Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, fliers saw more than two hour wait times Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about the delays, locals in Atlanta shared their thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not gonna make my flight,\u201d said a traveler.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is frustrating, but at the same time, we\u2019re patient,\u201d said another traveler.<\/p>\n<p>Those traveling at MIA are staying prepared, in case of potential long lines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverybody at the airport is telling me, be here four hours early tomorrow morning. And I\u2019m going to be.\u201d said Ivie.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt seems like it\u2019s only going to get worse if they hold off on passing the bill,\u201d said Aukema.<\/p>\n<p>Over 400 TSA workers have quit since the shutdown began, according to the Department of Homeland Security.<\/p>\n<p>Now, they\u2019re at risk of missing another paycheck if the partial government shutdown continues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe stress points are like being broken every single day; you have to make your choice every day when you have to come into work,\u201d said TSA security officer John Hubert.<\/p>\n<p>While the lines on Saturday were easy, Sunday\u2019s lines may increase due to the end of spring break.<\/p>\n<p>It is recommended to plan accordingly when flying out of FLL or MIA on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2025 Sunbeam Television Corp.
