Mayor Deegan announces new citywide effort to clean up litter and blight<\/a><\/p>\nThe video was shot in several iconic locations at various city parks and blends music, message, and movement to inspire pride in keeping Jacksonville clean and beautiful.<\/p>\n
With the help of Jacksonville hip-hop artist Mal Jones\u2019 energy and lyrical creativity, the students join Deegan in encouraging residents to do their part by disposing of trash, recycling responsibly and taking pride in their neighborhoods.<\/p>\n
\u201cKeeping Jacksonville clean is about more than just picking up litter, it\u2019s about showing love for our city,\u201d Deegan said. \u201cThis campaign is fun, creative, and speaks directly to our community\u2019s heart. I\u2019m so proud of our students and local artists for helping us spread the message: \u2018Keep Jax Cute, Don\u2019t Pollute!\u201d<\/p>\n
Announced in July, the \u201cKeep Jax Cute, Don\u2019t Pollute\u201d campaign is part of the city\u2019s initiative to combat litter and blight across Jacksonville by engaging residents, schools, and businesses in building a cleaner, safer and more vibrant city.<\/p>\n
Residents can join the campaign by forming a team to compete in the Jax Litter League, where local cleanup teams that collect the most trash receive prizes. The winning team will receive a box of Jaguars swag and an elite game day experience.<\/p>\n
\u201cMusic has the power to connect and motivate,\u201d Mal Jones said. \u201cPartnering with the City and these amazing students to promote a cleaner Jacksonville is something I\u2019m proud to be part of. We\u2019re showing that keeping our city beautiful can be cool, creative, and community-driven.\u201d<\/p>\n
