SUNRISE, Fla. \u2014 Deputies in Broward County arrested a man for allegedly trying to shoot another man.<\/p>\n
The incident happened on Friday along the 6400 block of Northwest 20th Court in Sunrise. <\/p>\n
According to the Broward Sheriff\u2019s Office, two men got into an argument at the Lauderhill Mall that led to the shooting.<\/p>\n
Deputies said the victim, identified as Marvin Eugene, told Sunrise Police officers that after arguing with the suspect, who they identified as 34-year-old Joubert Sevil, that he left the mall after Sevil threatened both Eugene\u2019s life and his mother. <\/p>\n
According to an arrest form, as Eugene drove away he noticed Sevil following in another vehicle, and when Eugene eventually parked his car he noticed Sevil park several houses away. <\/p>\n
Eugene told deputies that another vehicle parked behind Sevil\u2019s, and he watched as Sevil \u201cretrieved an object\u201d from the second car that he thought was a gun, BSO said.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s when Eugene said Sevil began \u201cspeed walking\u201d toward him, so he ran away, and while running he heard two gunshots fired in his direction, according to deputies. <\/p>\n
Authorities arrested Sevil the following day, but the details of how they caught up to him were redacted from an arrest form. <\/p>\n
Deputies said they used physical evidence and video footage that captured the incident in determining probable cause to arrest Sevil, who has since been charged with attempted premeditated murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. <\/p>\n
He is being held at the Broward Main Jail without bond. <\/p>\n
